How it works

How it works

The fungal spores of Metarhizium anisopliae inoculate locusts, termites and some caterpillars. Once inoculation, Metarhizium germinates on the cuticle and penetrate the insects by pressure and enzymatic action. The fungus multiplies in the insect and its development generates competiton for water and nutrients. Insects infected by Metarhizium anisopliae become weakened from 3rd to 4th day and start to die from the 5th days.Metarhizium continutes to sporulate on the dead insects and become a new source of inection.
